Dale A. Groh

April 1, 1959 — March 11, 2026

Passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Mary Groh; his mother, Janet Groh; and his children: Heather Groh & special friend Cleveland Freeman, Joseph Groh & significant other Calli Walters, and Crimson Beeck & Klaus, and his step-children: Carlton Case & Ali, Catherine LeSage & Adam, and Charissa Saint Thomas & Justin.

He is further survived by his siblings, David Groh and Karen Caperell & Melvin; and his six grandchildren, Island, Faron, Menorah, Carlton IV, Nazareth, and Lucian.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ed Groh, and his brother, Dennis.

Dale was a man who loved the Lord, his Savior, and lived his life with great faith. He was a man of quiet contemplation—patient with his words but quick with a hug, compliment, and quick-witted joke. As a young man, Dale joined the Marines and received the Marine Rifle Sharpshooter Medal. His time in the service brought him all over the world, but his favorite place would always be the woods of Wisconsin.

His lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, boating, walking in the woods, and nature in general was evident to anyone who spent even a few moments with him or caught a glimpse of his wall of trophy bucks.

Over his 40+ year career at the Post Office, Dale worked many different crafts over various shifts, but outside of work his time was spent with his loved ones. If you asked him, being a father and grandfather was the best thing he ever did. He encouraged endless games of badminton, horseshoes, and cards, no matter the occasion.

He doted on his grandkids at every opportunity, spending time with them in the paddle boat catching frogs and making sure they never forgot who was the “best grandpa” by always having ice cream when they came over.

He was most passionate about decking out the trailer with hay bales, lights, and music to drive the family around the countryside every Halloween, and passing out everyone’s Christmas presents, making sure to pay special attention to what everyone opened. Everyone hoped Dale (DT) would draw their name for Christmas since he had close connections with Santa Claus.

Grilling for the family, dragging his kids to the zoo, and zipping his grandkids around the farm on his four-wheeler were more than simple pleasures for Dale—they were what made life worth living, and that life was magical.

It is with the greatest sorrow that we must say such an early and unexpected goodbye. The loss of his kindness and love leaves the world a little dimmer, but for those who knew him, his memory will always be a source of light.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at his favorite place, the family farm.

Well done, well done, my good and faithful one
My child, you have run the race and you have won
Welcome to the place where you belong
