Carl Havelka, age 79, passed away on September 30, 2026 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI.
Carl George Havelka was born on March 11, 1947 in Wallace, MI to George and Emma (Kabatek) Havelka.
On April 5, 1971 Carl married Karen Kornetzke Sundstrom at the First Presbyterian Church, Menominee, MI.
Carl enjoyed many jobs and pastimes over the years. From cutting his own firewood his entire life, to sawing the lumber to build the family home in 1972. If he wasn't working, he was in the woods doing something! For decades he drove his own semi truck cross country, loving the road life. He was always ready with a story about his trucking days while having breakfast the last few years at Mickey Lou BBQ with his guy friends. Carl also built a kitchen in his garage so that he could have a monthly breakfast for all his friends to gather.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Karen, sister Julia, and parents George and Emma.
Carl is survived by Mark (Rochelle) Sundstrom, Stephenson, MI and Melody (Dennis) Linsmeier, Wallace, MI; Grandchildren Megan (Jake) Reichert, Elk River, MN; Shawna (Riley) Krueger, Coleman, WI; and great grandsons Blake, Bradley & Brooks Krueger, Coleman, WI. Carl is also survived by his 14 yr old dog, Duke, who followed his Dad to the other side on October 1, 2026.
Per Carl's wishes no service will be held. Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery. Simply Cremation, Green Bay, WI is assisting the family.
