Bonita Sweeney

Bonnie Sweeney, 76, of Green Bay, WI., died May 31st, 2026 with her family by her side, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Bonnie was born September 29th, 1949, in Green Bay, to the late Williard and Audrey Aures. After graduating high school in 1968, she married Greg Sweeney in Green Bay. They were married for 25 years and together had 4 children.

Bonnie was a true people person. She was a waitress and bartender at many different places over the years. She retired from kwik trip in De Pere, but before that she worked at Brett Favre's Steakhouse for 20 years. She was Brett Favre's favorite waitress, amongst many others she befriended over the years. She also had a love for playing bingo, if you couldn't get ahold of her, chances were she was playing bingo. Her birthday gift for everyone was taking them to their birthday bingo at the Oneida Bingo Hall.

Bonnie is survived by her children, whom she loved dearly, Billy (Carly) Aures, Heather (Jason) Clancy, Brent Sweeney( Crystal Greene), and Brandon (Tierney) Sweeney; 8 grandchildren, Dustin, Cameron, Falisitie Riccara, Kiana, Kyra, BillieJo, and Brooklyn; 4 great grandchildren, Evelyn, Ella, Amahra, and Bentley; her brother, Tom (Pat) Aures; and her 2 grand puppies, Zoey and Blue. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents; her sister, Debbie Vanderkinter; the father of her children, Greg Sweeney; and her longtime time companion, Marty Douglas.

The family would like to thank Aurora at Home for their care for Bonnie in her final moments, her life long friend, Vera, who was here everyday, and her granddaughter, Kiana, who never left her bedside in her final moments.

Bonnie did not want a funeral. Instead we will be having a celebration of life party at The Corner Bar in Greenleaf, Wi. on June 20th, 2026 from 2-7 pm.
