Blas "Blaze" Garcia

February 19, 1979 — October 28, 2025

Blas “Blaze” John Garcia, age 46, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, passed away of natural causes on October 28, 2025.

Born on February 19, 1979, Blaze grew up surrounded by family and friends who loved him. He graduated from Mishicot High School in 1998 and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin – Manitowoc Campus.

Blaze excelled in restaurant management, where his natural leadership, creativity, and passion for good food shone through. He loved to cook for others, especially his famous pineapple and cherry upside-down cake, a favorite among friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and flying his drone—always finding beauty and fun.

On June 9, 2017, Blaze married the love of his life, Scott Rosenberg. Together they built a life full of joy, love, and adventure. Blaze is survived by his husband, Scott; his siblings Ryan Garcia, Leela (Jody) Samz, Tori (John) Pravechek O’Conner, and Aaron (Jackie) Pravechek; his nephew Jack Samz and nieces Alexa O’Conner and Morgan Garcia; his aunt Nancy Ahrens; and Cousin John (Janelle) Fromm. He is also survived by his dear friend Amy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Nona Pravechek, his grandparents John (Jack) and Jean Ahrens, Uncle Robert (Bob) Fromm, and several great-grandparents, aunts, and uncles who welcomed him home with open arms.

A friend shared, “I realize Blaze was a complicated human, and we had the good fortune to experience many playful and light moments with him.”

A private celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2026. Blaze’s family are grateful he is resting in the arms of his mother, Nona.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local food pantry in honor of Blaze’s generous spirit and love of sharing good food.
