Barbara (Freeman) Compton

Barbara Compton passed away January 27, 2023. She was born on August 15, 1938. Barb was born to parents, Ralph and Hazel Freeman in Green Bay, WI. The family moved to Two Harbors Minnesota when she was small. There she met James Compton while he was stationed in Duluth with the USAF. They were married February 1st, 1958.

Barb was a very accomplished bowler and was inducted into the Green Bay Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 2005.

Barb is survived by her three children, Andy (Sherry) Compton. Mary Beth Compton-Blodgett, Timothy Compton. Also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, sisters in law and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim and twin sister Mary Freeman.

The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice, Tammy RN. Dr. Jensen and Dr. Novotny, Paul and Cindy, and Tom and Debbie for the care and love while taking care of her. Special thank you to Mary Beth for opening her home to care for mom in her final journey.

Per Barb's wishes there will be no services.

She will be interred with Jim at Fort Howard Memorial Gardens.
