Ambrose M. LaBrosse

Ambrose M. LaBrosse, Feb 27, 1942, the second of 14 children born to Lawrence & Stella LaBrosse in Krakow, WI passed away Aug 3, 2024 from complications of a heart attack. Ambrose left home at 12 years old, when he worked and lived with the Niespodzany family, so that he could provide for his support and education. Upon graduation from Pulaski High School in 1959, Ambrose joined the Marine Corps. He was stationed in California for two years, and another two years in Hawaii. In 1966, Ambrose met Kaye (Bruening) at a friend's wedding, who became his wife of 58 years. Together they have three sons, Jim, Jack, and Jason (Beth) LaBrosse. Ambrose was hired by Northern Paper Mills as a laborer until provided with the training to become a skilled electrician. He was employed there for 37 years, until his retirement in 2004. Ambrose enjoyed fishing, gardening, attending Sunday mass and was an avid Sudoku enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, sons, grandson Henry, two granddaughters, Samantha and Violet. He is further survived by three brothers, Allen (Patty), Gerard (Connie), Jerome (Tracy); six sisters, MaryAnn Hansen, Stella Cygan, Lorretta (Carl) Hill, Margie (Ralph) Jensen, Patsy (Chuck) Wallen and Lucy LaBrosse; 5 sisters-in-law, Connie (Henry) Bukoske, Lynn (Mike) Kane, Lori (Tom) Growt, Linda LaBrosse, Sher LaBrosse, Jackie; brother-in-law Mark (Darlene) Bruening and many nieces and nephews.

Ambrose was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Joe, Jim, George, brother-in-law Harold Hansen; and sisters-in-law, Gayl Swiecichowski, Dawn (Smokey) VanOoyen, Vicky Sheffer and his parents in-laws, Edgar & Viola Bruening.

A memorial service will be held at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum on Bay Settlement Rd on Tuesday, August 13 at 11am with a celebration of his life held afterwards.
