Allen R. Barrette

September 23, 1945 — March 27, 2024

Allen “Al” Roy Barrette, of Plymouth, WI, known to Wisconsinites as “Chip” and Yoopers as “Butch” passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, after a short stay at Sharon S Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 78 years old.

Al was born September 23, 1945, in Lake Linden, Michigan, son of Reuben and Jean (Sarya) Barrette. He lived in Upper Michigan until moving to Sheboygan County, Wisconsin in 1968 to take a position at Kohler Company. Al remained employed at Kohler Company until his retirement in 2007. He was also a member at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish since 1976.

On March 13, 1965, Allen married Audrey L (LeBlanc) at St Francis, Dollar Bay, Michigan with “Going to the Chapel of Love” playing in the car after the ceremony. Audrey Louise (LeBlanc) Barrette preceded him in death on December 6, 2007.

He loved hearing from his sons about grandkids, hunting trips and upcoming board meetings. Every day he looked for new posts to see what everyone was doing. Noontime was his time to review emails to see if Jeff shared pictures from his hunting camera or if his daughter, was out of town, what was she seeing, or eating. His days were filled with his favorite hobbies; watching the grass grow and being with his friends at Three Guys and A Grill and Elias Roadhouse. Tommy Elias, a very special friend would help fill his days, by calling upon him to come on down, when tinkering around in the garage, roasting a pig or help with making broasted chicken; always followed up by a Pabst Blue Ribbon. Al was also part of a very special crew at The Marsh/Three Guys and a Grill. One that started on Sundays after Mass, then grew into his regular routine. Everyone knew Chip standing at the corner of the bar.

Al is survived by his four children: Al Barrette (Linda B), Fairbanks, AK, Jon (girlfriend Julie) Easley, SC, Cory (Sandy) Barrette, Wasilla, AK and Lynnette (Jeff) Jochmann, Plymouth, WI. Six grandchildren: Jacob, Mickinzie, Ashley, Koya, Joscelyn and Cody. One great-grandson, Ryatt Barrette. He is further survived by brother Larry Barrette, sister Carol Heckroth, sister Dorothy (Bob) Clairmont, sister-in-law Jean LeBlanc and Joanne (Jim) Glinski, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Reuben and Jean, daughter-in-law, Laura, brothers Jerome and Jerry, sister Lillian Stukel, niece and godchild, Carla, nephews, James, and Larry Jr.

Catholic Mass will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00am, at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish, Elkhart Lake, WI.  Father Subi Thomas will officiate. Three Guys and a Grill (The Marsh) will celebrate Al's life after Mass, until 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Al’s name.
Allen Barrette Memorial , W6486 Pamela LN, Plymouth, WI 53073.
