Vivienne Godet Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Vivienne Kathleen Godet, 65, of Los Angeles, CA passed away too soon, on Sunday, June 5th, 2022 at Bellin Health Hospital in Green Bay, WI. Vivienne was born in Matthew Town, Inagua in the Bahamas on October 6th, 1956 into the well-known Godet clan. As the youngest child of Kathleen (nee Basden) & William Godet Jr., she had a large extended family. Her parents moved to Nassau, Bahamas in 1958, and eventually to Freeport, Grand Bahama in 1969. Vivienne graduated from Catholic High School in 1973. Vivienne won the title of Miss Grand Bahama in 1974 and later that year went on to compete in the Miss Bahamas Pageant where she placed first runner up. Her success in these pageants was due to her outstanding singing talent. As a result, she was invited to participate in the Washington, DC Cherry Blossom Festival. Vivienne moved to Los Angeles, California in 1978 to attend Los Angeles Valley College, where she studied voice. Vivienne was a back-up singer for several musical artists including the group LTD which featured Jeffery Osbourne. With the exception of a few years, she continued to live in Los Angeles for the majority of her life. Her most proud moments were becoming a mother to her one and only daughter, Nyna Lorraine Frelich & a grandmother to Hazel Lorrain Otten, whom she loved dearly. Vivienne was a beautiful soul with a big heart. She loved ballroom dancing & singing. Her angelic voice could be heard on Sundays in the choir at First Baptist Church of North Hollywood. Vivienne had a passion for working with children. She coached girls’ softball & volunteered for Hands4Hope, an after school program to support youth. She enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, hiking and 5Ks. She looked forward to attending jazz festivals with her girlfriends. Vivienne will be remembered as a loving, strong, independent, kind, beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt & friend. Vivienne is survived by her daughter, Nyna Lorraine Frelich & granddaughter, Hazel Lorraine Otten of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Her siblings are Valderine Lockhart, Thomas Earl Godet, Louis Godet (Dorothy), & Veronica Peirson of Freeport, Grand Bahama. Sister-in-law Gloria Godet. Her nieces & nephews are Tammy Anderson, Kathryn Powell, Michael Lockhart (Margo), Gian Godet of Los Angeles, CA, Katina Sears (Wellinton), Algernon Godet, Shambi Godet, Thomas Godet & of Freeport, Grand Bahama, and many great nieces & nephews. She also leaves behind a host of cousins including Maud, William (Linda), Jamil and Ianthe Jones. Vivienne is preceded in death by her parents, William & Kathleen Godet, grandparents Nina L. Basden, Thomas Basden, William Godet, Sr. and Clementina Godet and great grandmother Susan Williams. The family would like to thank all those who supported, loved and prayed for Vivienne throughout her battle with liver failure, in her final days & throughout her lifetime.
