Stuart Stock

August 14, 1963 — July 30, 2021

Stuart Ronald Stock, 57, of Green Bay, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021. He was born to Robert and Arlette (nee Johnson) Stock on August 14, 1963 in Sycamore, Illinois, and was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo, Illinois.

Growing up in Marengo with his two older brothers Michael and Kurt, Stu was very involved in athletics. He graduated from Marengo High School, and attended the College of St. Francis where he earned a business degree and played baseball. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed his time playing in their farm system before a shoulder injury forced his early retirement.

Although employed in the business world, Stu never lost his passion for baseball. He would go on to do much mentoring and coaching, including being the assistant coach to the 2016 N.E.W. Lutheran High School Blazers who reached the state tournament.

Stu was a very loving brother and spent many hours talking with Mike about sports, with whom he coached baseball, and thoroughly enjoyed sister-in-law Judy’s baking and beet jelly. As an equally loving uncle, he enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews with games like 52-card pick-up, but also schooled them in decidedly “uncle” topics like WWE and Thunderbirds.
He is survived by his brother Michael (Judy) Stock, nieces Kristin (Jeremy) Becker and Jennifer (Jason) Batty, nephews Robert (Michele) Stock and Joseph (Rebekah) Stock; great nieces and nephews; uncle Donald (Melinda) Stock and cousins Erin, Grant, and Kira Stock; Aunt Darlene (Harry) Bolz and cousin Kathy Bolz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kurt, his sister-in-law Diana, and niece Taylor.

The family would especially like to thank Evonne Brown for her extreme kindness and care as Stu’s neighbor and friend.

The family will celebrate Stu’s life and heavenly homecoming with a private service. Memorials may be made in Stu’s name to N.E.W Lutheran High School or Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
