Norma Tucker

June 14, 1948 — March 10, 2022

Norma Tucker, 73, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, March 10, 2022. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Norma died from colon cancer. Born June 14, 1948, in Charleston, WV, she is the daughter of the late Willard Tucker and Phyllis King. Norma always carried a piece of West Virginia with her wherever she traveled, including her thick southern accent. She was a special lady who was loved and adored by all who had the privilege of crossing her path. Norma was an artistic and talented soul who thoroughly enjoyed putting her hand to all sorts of crafts. She was extremely social, and parties were where she truly shined. Norma also loved to sing with great gusto, despite her inability to hit a note or remember a lyric.

Norma is survived by her loving children, Dawn (Ralph) Vardis, Green Bay and David (Kathy) Gibson, Charleston, WV, and Bonus daughter, Patti (Jon) Zochert, Green Bay; grandchildren, Jared (Maryiah) Christianson, Conner Christianson, Harley Vardis, Zacary (Catelyn) Gibson, Brandy Gibson (Darion), Eric Gibson, Reese Bundy, Josie Bundy, Matthew Neely and Mason Gibson; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Russell Moss, Steve (Debbie) Moss, Kim (Craig) King and Leonard Moss.

She was preceded in death by one son, Clint Gibson (Jaime); and siblings, Donald Gene Moss and David Allen Moss.

Mom was blessed with many amazing friends who loved her and cared for her until her final breath. Up until her final moments, she wanted each to know how much they meant to her.

Celebration of Life will be held at Malcore (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, visitation from 1pm-2pm, with the memorial service to follow from 2pm-3pm. The memorial service will be live streamed: https://youtu.be/V4RWpgNn7TE

Norma has specifically requested people not wear traditional mourning colors, but instead, dress the way she sang…colorful and out of tune! She would also like individuals to be prepared to listen to non-traditional music such as Elvis Presley and music from that era, likely played louder than is tasteful.

Norma strongly requested no “funeral” flowers be purchased for her. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Encompass Child Care or St. Vincent’s Children Hospital, or any child focused charity of your choice. Children loved Norma and she was called the Baby Whisperer when she was a grandparent volunteer at Encompass. Norma’s smile was infectious and could light up a room! There will be an irreplaceable space in our world now that she is gone.

Simply Cremation of Green Bay is serving the family.
