Michael L. Albertson

December 12, 1948 — December 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of, Michael L. Albertson. He was a great man that impacted so many lives during his time on this earth and will be missed dearly. He left this earth and entered heaven on 12-14-21 after a yearlong battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was born in Algoma Wisconsin to Frances and Homer Albertson on 12-12-1948. He graduated high school there and subsequently attended Silver Lake college earning his Bachelor’s degree in history along with his teaching certificate. He had several wonderful and impactful careers in his life. Working as an elementary school teacher, a game Warden for the DNR, a Deputy for the Door County Sherriff’s department, an Officer for the DePere Police Department, and finally a Criminal Justice Instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. Mike’s career choices gave back to the community in Northeast Wisconsin in so many different ways. He not only touched the lives of many; he gave a strong purpose to those entering the field of Law Enforcement.

Mike lived life to the fullest in every way possible. He put his family first above all other things. He is survived by his wife Susan Albertson; two children April Albertson (Nicholas Nooyen); Andrew Albertson (Tanya Duchaine), and his grandchildren Alex Duchaine, Eli Albertson, Makenzie Albertson-Duchaine, Carter Kinnard, Jocelyn Nooyen, and Gabriel Nooyen. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Mike took on so many different hobbies and adventures throughout his life. He ran marathons, learned and became a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, he did whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, climbed mountains, played pickleball, hiking, camping, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and just walking his dog around Green Bay. He also learned how to down hill ski as an adult just so that he could spend time with his wife and kids. He lived each and every day as it was his last and had a fulfilling life. He took his wife, children, and grandchildren on his adventures with him teaching them how to do so many things and experience the greatest things life has to offer.

Mike was a champion and warrior in so many different ways and filled his life with love and happiness. He was a man with a huge heart and wanted to make the world a better place. Which he did each and every day by showing people kindness, respect, dignity and how to love.

At this time the family is still working towards establishing if there will be a memorial service. Please look to the website for any additional information.
