Marylin "Lynne" F. Shaw

July 12, 1943 — February 21, 2022

Marylin “Lynne” F. Shaw, age 78 of Green Bay, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home Association. She was born on July 12, 1943 in Fresno, CA to the late Franklin and Rosemary (DuMez) Farvour.

Through the years, Lynne graduated from Ripon High School and attended Ripon College and Moraine Park Technical College where she received her degree as an LPN. She worked most of her life as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Ripon area.

Lynne was a lifelong Episcopalian, she was a very active member of both her church and Cursillo community. She had a very strong faith in God and taught many around her. Above all, Lynne loved her children and grandchildren. Whether it was being the loudest member of the cheering section at shows and concerts, or bragging about her grandchildren's art, music and any accomplishment to anyone who would listen, Lynne was a strong individual. No matter her personal problems, she would never miss a chance to be there for anyone in need and always was willing to listen and offer advice when needed. She was fiercely loyal and had a great sense of humor.

She loved the Packers, Jeopardy and talking on her phone to her friends. Lynne appreciated a good glass of wine or whiskey, and loved it when her friends smuggled in margaritas. One of her greatest times was her trip to New York City to see her granddaughter play at Carnegie Hall. She got to tell everyone she could find about how proud she was.

Left to cherish Lynne’s memory are her four children, Patricia Shaw, Christopher (Kathryn) Shaw, Deirdre (David) Popp and Jennifer (Mark) Affleck; grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah, Daniel, Andrew, Caitlin, Nicholas and Jacob; brother, Richard (Kathleen) Farvour; and two nephews, Brian and Paul. Her parents; brother, Tom Farvour; and beloved companion, John Cell preceded her in death.

A celebration of life will be held for Lynne sometime in August 2022, in Ripon, WI.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Odd Fellow Rebekah Home Association, Unity Hospice and to all her close friends for all the love, care and to the quality of life they gave to Lynne.

She was the best mother anyone could ever hope for, and we will miss her so much, for the rest of our days.
