Marilyn (Basel) Hokenson, 77, Two Rivers, entered eternal life on Sunday, August 6, 2017, in Green Bay with her four children at her side several days following a sudden heart attack.

Marilyn was born on June 12, 1940, in Manitowoc, WI. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Budysz) Basel and was raised at the family farm in Whitelaw. Marilyn graduated at the top of her class from Reedsville High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Earl G. Hokenson, on February 27, 1960, in Manitowoc, WI. They also went on motorcade excursions to Alaska, Mexico, and Nova Scotia. Marilyn and Earl settled down permanently in Two Rivers, WI in 2012. Marilyn worked as a crossing guard for Koenig Elementary School where she enjoyed seeing the children every day. She loved discussing politics, her daily walks, playing cards and dominos and visiting with her family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Earl, who passed away on November 16, 2014, and she never stopped mourning his loss. She is survived by her children, son, Michael (Michelle) Hokenson of Fairfax Station, VA and their children, Phillip (Laura) and great grandson, Maximillian Earl; Alexander, Nathan, and Marie; daughter, Lynn (Bill) Austin of Appleton, WI and Lynn’s children, Jaime (Mike) Meinzer, and Matthew (Tina) Winarski; daughter, Julie (Alan) Burlingame of Portland, OR and their children, Ryan and Justin; and son, Andrew (Tanny) Hokenson of Reston, VA and their daughter, Alyssa.

Marilyn is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Weber and Diane (Guido) Camponelli; a brother-in-law, Allen (Evelyn) Hokenson; a sister-in-law, Betty Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and parents-in-law, Lawrence and Frieda Hokenson, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharon (Orville) Becker; brothers-in-law, Ronald Weber, Clyde Jefferson, and Carl (Jean) Hokenson; and sister-in-law, Ethel Hokenson.
