Loyola "Joyce" Olson

Loyola ‘Joyce’ (Barbeau) Olson, Crivitz, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2020
surrounded by family.
Joyce was born on October 14. 1943 in Escanaba, MI to the late Guy and Veronica (Louis) Barbeau. She married Dale ‘Ole’ Olson on July 5, 1969 in Green Bay, WI, together they raised 5 children.
Over the years Joyce has had many different jobs but the one that she loved the most
was driving semi. She enjoyed taking her children on many of her cross country trucking trips and showed them the beauty of the United States. She also took her kids camping and fishing, one of her favorite spots was Fox Park where they would pitch a large canvas army tent. Many aunts, uncles and cousins usually joined in on the camping trips and her motto was ‘the more the merrier’. Joyce could always be counted on to make the best of any situation and was always up for a road trip or adventure. Throughout the years she has opened her door and heart to anyone who needed a place to stay or a helping hand.
Once her health forced her to give up truck driving she enjoyed sewing, puzzles, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was never afraid to take multiple grandkids at a time for a road trip to the dollar store to get some treats. For many years her great grandson, Tristan Johnson was her adventure buddy and they would go everywhere together.
Joyce is survived by 1 brother, William (Doris) Barbeau and 1 sister-in-law, Joan
Neuman Barbeau. She is also survived by her children Gerald ‘Jerry’ (Kim) Burger, Steven Burger, Carol Rivard, Jeffrey ‘Jeff’ (Gillian) Olson and Jesse Olson. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren who are going to miss her tremendously.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale ‘Ole’ Olson 3 brothers,
Werner Neuman, Richard ‘Dick’ Neuman, Eugene ‘PeeWee’ Barbeau and 1 sister, Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Brown. Also proceeding her in death was 1 grandson Beau John Burger. whom Joyce said she could always feel him touching her cheek.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU at Aurora Bay Care hospital in Green
Bay and Aurora at Home Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided for Joyce in her last days.
