Joyce Radtke

July 19, 1940 — April 8, 2022

Joyce Margaret Radtke (Treinen), age 82 passed away peacefully at her home in Bellevue WI, on April 8th, 2022. Joyce is survived by her husband Ralph to whom she was married for 56 years, her son Chad (Emily) Radtke of Inverness, IL., granddaughters Lauren (Kyle) Shelton, Morgan (Mitchell) Morris, and Olivia. Her son Shane (Katie) Radtke of Appleton, WI, granddaughter Charlotte and grandson Andrew. Joyce is also survived by brother Dale (Lorelei) Treinen of Waukesha, WI.

Joyce was a 1961 graduate of Milwaukee County School of Nursing. She began her nursing career at Milwaukee County General Hospital and tried her hand at every department available to her. She continued to be a valuable member of staff while seeing the hospital renamed to John L. Doyne Hospital in 1993 and Froedtert Memorial Hospital in 1995. One of the hardest decisions and biggest accomplishments was moving to Community Memorial Hospital to start the Breast Care of Women’s Health Center in Menomonee Falls, WI. Her compassion and empathy were the embodiment of her professional success. When her health began to decline, she often wished to be back at work.

Joyce loved travelling, tennis, skiing (downhill and cross country), biking, hiking, and kayaking. Really any excuse to be outside. She was ahead of her time, independent, and strong willed. She was truly unique and will be missed by many.

Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 715 6th Avenue Grafton WI 53024 on Wednesday, May 18th with visitation from 4-6:30 pm with service starting at 6:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donation to MSOE School of Nursing Scholarship Fund and Memorial fund to Grace Lutheran Church.

A heartwarming thanks to my sons Chad, Shane, and their families along with many friends for their support during this time. Joyce and I love you guys. May the peace of the lord be with you always.
