April 8, 1929 — June 12, 2021

James Kreuter – Green Bay, WI - Age 92

Formerly of Peoria, AZ, Germantown and Sheboygan, WI. Loving Husband of Martha Ann (Moore) whose passing preceded his by 8 years.

A talented artist, prolific reader and great lover of books, Jim was a lifetime learner and avid student of archaeology, anthropology, and history. He collected countless books and beautiful pieces of primitive art which will live on with his own beautiful paintings and honor the life and interests of a very unique man.

Jim was a successful Graphic Designer with the Milwaukee Journal prior to his retirement in 1991 and also illustrated several books. He first attended John Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis after receiving a scholarship upon winning the Milwaukee Journal calendar art contest. He later completed his education at The Layton School of Art in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany in the early 1950’s, and was a 1948 graduate of Sheboygan Central HS. He had great memories of playing Tackle on the talented 1946 football team that is remembered among Sheboygan’s best ever.

Jim is survived by four children, Karen Bird, Tucson, AZ (Husband Tom); Kurt, De Pere, WI (Donna); Barbara Schmidt, Wilton, CT (Husband Tim); and Holly Kreuter, San Francisco, CA, (Spouse, Marina Coleridge). He is also survived by his Sister, Jean Braun, Sheboygan (Husband Bob) and a Brother, Jack (deceased). There are seven wonderful Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren; Kenzy Kreuter, Connor Kreuter, and Rivers Kreuter-Topie. Nieces and Nephews all in the Sheboygan area are Jack, Chris and Stephanie Kreuter, Pamela Braun Crneckiy, and Bonnie Widder (Braun).

The family will gather in July for internment in Sheboygan.

Thank you to Donna Kreuter and the dedicated staff of New Perspectives in Howard, WI for tremendous care given to Dad in the later stages of life. It was truly inspiring to see your love in action.
