Helen A. Lemmen, 72, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born in Berchtesgaden, Germany on July 30, 1949 to the late Wacław (“Wencil”) and Halina (Naumenko) Lis. Helen and her family emigrated from Europe to America in the early 1950’s and permanently settled in Antigo, Wisconsin where she and her siblings lived and worked on their family farm. Helen attended Antigo High School and graduated in 1967.

After graduating high school, Helen married and moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she raised her two children. She earned an associate degree in business and accounting and worked over 20 years at UW-Green Bay as an accountant and fiscal clerk until she retired. Helen also owned a small business in partnership with her daughter in the early 1990’s, in downtown Green Bay, called “Star Gazer”. She was a certified Reiki Master and enjoyed helping others throughout her life. She made the world a much brighter place for many.

Helen later married the love of her life, Joseph (“Joe”) Lemmen at St.Joseph Parish in Oneida, Wisconsin on August 17, 1991. They shared 20 wonderful years together until he passed away in 2007.

Helen loved flowers and gardening, fishing, dancing, spending time relaxing at the lake, traveling on cruise ships with her husband Joe and spending quality time at home with family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.

Helen is survived by her two children, daughter Angela (Peter) Simpson, son Neal (Stacey) Leonard and their father Nicholas (Jennifer) Leonard; grandson Dylan (Jessica) Leonard; sister Mary (Stephen) Wilhelm; brother Stephan (Linda) Lis; brother George Lis, Sr.; very special friends Elizabeth and Russell Cross, Darlene King, Ann Trybek and Annie Johnson; step-daughter Rebecca Lemmen; step-son Kurt (Amy) Lemmen; nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
