Dennis E. Draper

Dennis E. Draper, age 81 of Shawano, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 9, 1940 in Elmore, OH to the late Elmer and Lucilla (St. Clair) Draper. Dennis was united in marriage to Susan J. Schwemberger on June 9, 1962 in Elmore, OH.
Dennis graduated from Elmore High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1961 on the USS Lexington. You might say Dennis worked as an electrician at Ohio Lime in Woodville, OH, Olive Electric in Brownsville, TX and at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI for many years, but his passion was always farming. He loved his dairy farm at Curtiss, WI.
His true enjoyments beyond farming were growing things, from the vegetable garden to his many flower gardens. He loved spending time in the outdoors no matter the occasion or purpose. Dennis and Susan are members at Zion Lutheran Church of Shawano, WI.
Left to cherish Dennis’s memory are his wife of 59 years, Susan Draper; daughter, Emily Draper; son, Samuel (Tamara) Draper; son in law, Steven Boyles; grandchildren, Jonathan Draper, Scott Draper, Mark Rothenberger, Christopher Draper, Rebecca Boyles, Gwendolyn Clark, Valerie Boyles and Forrest Boyles; great grandchildren, Savana Shulte and Alexis, Mason and Grayson Rothenberger. He is further survived by a sister, Lillian Damschroder; sister in law, Ann Draper; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in by his parents; daughter, Leslie Boyles; sisters, Jean (Al) Klavinger and Nancy (Noah) Francis; brother, Don Draper; and brother in law, Jack Damschroder.
A celebration of life will be held for Dennis at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church Shawano, WI. Pastor Scott Ludford will be the officiant. Visitation will be held at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the staff of Thedacare at Home Hospice, Pastor Scott Ludford, Lay Pastor, Scott Glysch and to the members of the Zion Lutheran Church for all of the care and support shown to Dennis, as well as all the prayers that were sent.
