June 19, 1943 - March 20, 2021
We are proud to announce the home going of our dearly admired and respected Booker T. Jarrett Jr. Booker peacefully made his transition in his sleep to his heavenly residence on March 20, 2021. Booker, whom we all so lovingly called “Jr.” led a remarkable life. He was born on June 19, 1943 in Brownsville, TN. to extraordinary parents; the late Booker T. Jarrett, Sr. and Mary Ellen Jarrett. Booker from his early years throughout his adult life was a man of integrity. He was a dependable friend and hard-worker. He believed in advocating and protecting others all while displaying a character of fortitude and strength that was not easily shaken. Rooted in his solid belief of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he always had encouraging words of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for those who listened. He was a loyal man of service to his church, on his job, and among his community of friends and family. We could all count on Jr. Booker was a family man. He loved and valued his unbreakable bond with his siblings; Versa (deceased), Lagean, Luevenia, Annie Ruth (deceased), Cassell, Leneda, Carolyn, Betty, and Chester. He married early in his life to his beautiful kind-hearted late wife, Dorothy Jarrett. Together they planted a legacy of four roots to represent their love, commitment, and strength for and to each other. These roots began with Teresa (deceased), Daphne, Angela, and Booker (Terry). And from that foundation came a fruitful yield of beautiful and intelligent grandchildren (Nhyla, Iyan, Alan, Tarrianna, Takaira, Timothy, Aaron, and Ezra). Later in Jr’s life he shared his love and commitment to his beautiful devoted companion Nola McNeal and all of her extended family whom he loved and treasured as his own. He is survived by a host of courageous nephews, adored nieces, connected cousins, cherished church members, valuable in-laws, and an extended family of friends and former co-workers. For it is written, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverb 1:7) Well done Booker, A good and faithful servant. It is finished!
