Beatta “Betty” Gille

June 17, 1949 — July 2, 2021

Beatta Gille, 72, after a battle she fought with dignity and strength, succumbed to cancer and passed away July 2, 2021, at home surrounded by the love and comfort of her immediate family. Born June 17, 1949, to the late Joseph and Gladys (Ourada) VandenBush, she lived her life to the fullest always giving to those and where help was needed.

Betty had an eye for art and trained at the Layton School of Art and Design in Milwaukee, WI, and was a talented artist. If she could imagine it she could draw it or create it. She was such a wonderful soul and had many friends throughout her life that she shared good times with. We enjoy the memories left from the photos she was always taking. She was never not taking pictures to commemorate memories in time. She was a wonderful photographer. She produced such wonderful work but yet she was always so humble about her talent never thinking she amazing and full of skill and raw talent.

She left her promising job at Fort Howard Art Department to stay home and take care of her three children. She volunteered in the community while her children were growing up. She was the Art Appreciation Teacher at the elementary school where all three children attended, and she was the Girl Scout Troop Leader for her daughter Cady for years. She wanted to be where her kids were at every activity or watching every game. She was a really great mum: couldn’t wish for any better memories growing up for her children.

She had a big heart for animals there was a lot of pets for her children growing up. She enjoyed going to the lake house in Crooked Lake throughout her life with her family for weekends and throughout the summer. Just spending time in the yard by the water and enjoying the sun. She especially loved her dog Beanie, who still misses her very much. She also loved gardening and making the lawn look perfect. Betty loved her two sisters. She also loved her only grandchild, Bridgette, Cady’s daughter, especially so much. She enjoyed spending time with Bridgette right up time the end and Bridgette still talks like grandma is still around us almost every day. Most importantly Betty never stopped smiling (just like her father, Joe).

She is survived by her husband, John; daughter Cady and her daughter, Betty’s granddaughter Bridgette Gille; twins Henry and Stacy Gille; her two sisters, Gayle (Don) Boldt, Mary Jo (Brooks) Austin; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins all of Green Bay.

Betty was greeted in heaven by her parents Joseph and Gladys (Ourada) VandenBush.

Betty’s family extends a special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for the compassionate care of Betty.

According to her wishes, there will be no service. Online condolences can be expressed at: simplycremationgb.com
