Barbara J. Brett, 74, Athelstane passed away, Sunday morning, March 6, 2022, in a Green Bay hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born May 5, 1947, she is the daughter of the late Gordon and Edna (Mattison) McKinley. Barbara married Charles E. Brett in 1967. Because of Charles's career in the US Navy, the young couple lived in various locations. After Charles retired from his 30 year career in the military, the couple settled in the Athlstane area in the late 1980's. Barbara will be remembered as a lover of all animals and usually had a number of cats of her own. Family was very important to Barbara, she and Charles were also very instrumental in assisting in raising their grandson, James.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles; two children, Robert (Biz) Brett of Rhode Island and Heather Brett of Suamico; and five grandchildren, Rory, Cameron, Silas, James, and Dustin; and her two dogs, Darla and Remy and four cats, Sabrina, Red, Butter, and Tiger Lilly.
