Richard "Rick" Watermolen

January 5, 1953 — October 17, 2017

Richard Allen “Rick” Watermolen, 64, of Suring, WI passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Green Bay. He was born January 5, 1953 in Green Bay to Clayton and LaVerne (VanEss) Haum. Clayton passed away when Rick was very young. His mother later married Kenneth Watermolen who adopted Rick and his three brothers. Rick graduated from Premontre High School in 1971 and the Wausau Technical Institute in 1973. He married Sheri Nogalski on Sept. 23, 2000 in a lakeside ceremony at their home.

Rick worked in management at various jobs throughout his career. However he cared most about his family. He was very proud of his son Dave and the man he became. He adored his Grandson Nolan and his little buddy Mugen. He enjoyed fishing, the Packers, and gardening. Rick was a true craftsman remodeling and renovating his father’s summer cottage into a year-round home. Although they weren’t always successful Rick loved deer hunting with his best friend and brother Jim. Rick also enjoyed the company of his dogs and cats, past and present; Jake, Sadie, Mickey, Minnie, Daisy May and Ringo to name a few. His father-in-law often calling him Dr. Dolittle.

Rick was a thoughtful, soft-spoken and gentle man. One would be hard pressed to find a more kind hearted person in this world. He was always considerate of other’s feelings, rarely if ever raised his voice in anger and treated everyone with respect. Our loss is heaven’s gain.

Rick is survived by his wife Sheri, son David (Emily) Arrick, grandson Nolan, brothers and sister: Randy and Sue, Bonduel; James and Ann, Green Bay; John, Hortonville; Mary and Patrick McNamara, Green Bay; Douglas and Diane, Whiting, Maine; Paul, Appleton; Joseph and Mary, Green Bay; sister-in-law; Linda Watermolen, DePere; mother-in-law: Betty Nogalski; sisters-in-law: Dawn and Ken Ermis; Sharon Nogalski; brothers-in-law; Alan and Pam; Jason; John; many nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill, grandparents Harry and Margaret VanEss, George and Madeline Haum, and father-in-law Alan Nogalski.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor of St Vincent’s Hospital for all they did for Rick. Special thanks to his nurses; Heather, Kevin (the recycler), April and Danielle.

Per Rick’s wishes there will be a private service and celebration of his life.
